Behind the Stick:

Make a wish on Twitter and see what happens. The La Aurora 107 Lancero came into existence due to Twitter followers asking. After some talk and debate La Aurora and Miami Cigar decided to embrace the wonderful cigar community even more and they created this size of the La Aurora 107 cigar just for us. Guillermo Leon calls it the Twitter Cigar and the initial run was 300 boxes with select retailers. Who knows? Maybe there will be another production run or two. All we have to do is ask right?! Many cigar companies have really embraced new social media but La Aurora and Miami Cigar have really stepped up and made a huge impression with cigar lovers. I was lucky enough to receive a couple of sample sticks from my good friends Guillermo Leon and Jason Wood.

The Cigar Nut

Size: 4 7/8 by 50 (Cuban Press)
Wrapper: Sungrown Nicaraguan
Binder and Filler: Honduras, Dominican Republic and Nicaragua
Strength: Full
Price: Cuban Press Box roughly $70.00

Just A Taste

The Cuban Press set comes to us from the CAO company who decided to take a few of their more popular blends, squish them together in a different manner creating their now infamous, Cuban Press Box set containing a total of 12 cigars – Brazila, Italia, MX2 and LX2 – 3 of each. From what I have been able to gather, there is zero difference between these and their other blends but rather a different ‘format’.

Montecristo Petit Tubos

Behind The Stick:

I was lucky enough to receive a few of these from my buddy up north, Mr @Dalamscius on twitter, who sent me a care package of some fantastic smokes, a few of them being these creations. I did my best to let them sit as long as I could but temptation got the best of me and I had to dive in. I was able to do a little research and found out that these are actually very similar (if not the same) as the Montecristo No. 4 with the exception of the packaging where as the tubos naturally come in an aluminum tube. Now, running with this thought the #4 has been toted as one of the top 3 smokes from this company as well as being honored by some as ‘the most solid cigar in the world’ – now if that isn’t some pressure I don’t know what is. How did these stand up when I smoked em!?

Here we have another installment from the great people of the CAO company, their MX2 Cuban Press. Just like the other blends within the Cuban Press Box Set, the Italia, LX2 and Brazilia are the same original blends but pressed differently to create this well defined ‘box press’ they call a Cuban Press. Lets see how this one does for us!

The Cigar Nut

So as many of you know, I was gone last week on my honeymoon – and boy oh boy was it nice to get away from work, family and the ‘ritual’ of every day life. I am slowly getting back into the groove and realizing how much time running the site really requires – I love it and I’m not going anywhere (to the dismay of some) but I’ll be the first to admit that I am not on top of everything 100% but I’m running a close 98% haha. I am still updating the pictures for the achievements but the leader board ‘should’ be up to date – if it is not please use the contact form and let me know, I’ll get it fixed asap.

P.s. – youtube videos after the jump.

SORRY Everyone!

I know I was supposed to pick up the slack while David was on his honeymoon. We have many achievements to update and some more prizes getting ready to go out. Unfortunately I have suffered a series of personal set backs this week that have prevented me from taking care of business here. My wireless internet and email account was hacked by some hardcore scammers which was a mess to clean up. No idea how they did it since my password was insanely difficult. I have a lot of other things going on also but you all don’t want to hear about my problems.

Anyways people no worries! The achievements will be updated this weekend. The leader board will be updated and a few prizes going out. New reviews are in the works and we will be back in action before you know it. Keep doing those achievements! I have had some of the prizes arrive this week and some lucky winners are going to really enjoy them. I know I wish I could keep them. Check back here at the end of the week for some new content and thanks for understanding.

Congrats to David and Jen on their wedding. Hope you have many wonderful years together.

-Jake
