With the holiday quickly approaching and passing I wanted to fit in a few cigar reviews and maybe a whiskey review or two into the mix but as luck would have it I have been struck with one of the worst head colds I’ve had in years. That being said, going on 7 days now without smell or taste – well, I’m reaching for the archives and will be clearing out some of the ‘to be posted’ reviews that have been collecting dust, I finished up my latest rant (a bit more colorful, hopefully a bit more enjoyable for you all), and started writing a little spot on taste and my experiences through this past week of mini-hell haha. Keep checking back regularly, more to come!

Cain F Lancero
Size: 7″ x ~38
Behind the Stick: The Cain F Lancero is the latest (albeit unreleased) cigar in the Cain line of cigars made by Oliva. The Cain cigars boast the use of straight ligero for filler. This mix of different ligero tobacco creates a very strong but smooth cigar. The “F” line of the Cain cigars uses more Esteli ligero, which is the strongest of the three used in the filler. Although the lancero is very petite compared to some of it’s brothers (the Cain F 660 is a beast!) I’m still expecting quite a kick from it.
To all those who are lucky enough to spend time with their families, stuff their face and take a small turkey coma – I hope you are able to enjoy it to the fullest. For those military personal over seas, I hope next year will bring you home safe and able to hold your families – I know how hard it is to enjoy a holiday away from home. To those outside America who don’t get the chance to celebrate our holiday – take this chance and be an American! As my Dad would always say ‘If you leave here hungry, its your own damn fault.’
Jen and I will be off in a few to go to her aunts house, then she has to work overnight (bullshit I know) downtown and then I’m headed about 30 min south to my parents house and then the hour trek back after that. Hope the ‘wintery mix’ they predicted doesn’t stick – Hope you all have a bit less hectic of a day!
Cuban Crafters Cameroon Redo
Size: 5 1/2 x 60 (Torpedo)
Wrapper: Cameroon (Tabacalera Esteli)
Binder and Filler: Virgin Sun-grown Cuban-Seed Habano (Nicaragua)

Behind The Stick:
If you check out my previous review of the Cuban Crafters Cameroon you’ll see a bit of the background on the cigar – but this is a redo! I reviewed this cigar December 18th, 2009 and this single has been sitting in my humidor ever since just getting ripe and ready for this. I figured this cigar would be perfect for although I thought it did well last year, it never really gave me enough of a push to smoke more. Without further hesitation, how does this beast do a year later?

Style: Single Malt Whisky

Behind The Booze:
One thing that many people do not realize is that Japan is the fourth biggest producer of whisky in the world and the second largest producer of single malt whisky, winning a number of huge international praise and awards since 2001. Now I am personally new to whisky, especially the spirits from Japan but without giving away too much, I must say I have been nothing but impressed. Without further interruptions, on to the review!
