Ready for another The Cigar Nut contest? Ready for one of the easiest ones out there?! Okay – ready?

I currently have ‘Digging News’ which – although I am digging through different legal documents to find news, it just doesn’t have that ‘catchy ring’ to it. Leave a comment with some ideas as to what the segment should be called. If you idea is selected its worth 10 cigars from my personal humidor – if no one’s ideas are chosen then 2 people at random will be picked and will receive 5 cigars each.

Every single day it seems like there is something going on in the cigar world. It is simply amazing to me to imagine how many different players are in the business and how much is accomplished in such a short amount of time. First and foremost – my hat goes off to all those involved and all the hard work you do. If nothing else, it gives me something exciting to look through each day.

Enough of that – onto the fucking news! Right out the shoot lets start with something you all probably know a bit about – Rocky Patel Premium Cigars Inc – get your attention? We all know that Rocky seems to be pushing out new brands and blends ( good or bad is always a big debate ) and those who are familiar with the Xen by Nish Patel know that the cigar has been out since October of 2011 and has had a decently favorable run through the cigar review world. Well, it is finally official – the name has been fully put through the legal system and if you are wanting to use the name, Rocky and his company can now sue you for it. Kinda wild it took 7 months but then again, the American legal system has never been known as a quick process.

Well, now that Cigar Aficionado has talked about it I guess it is official – Christian Eiora is coming back to the cigar world. If the name sounds familiar it is because he used to be the president of Camacho Cigars but after selling the company to the Davidoff group, he has been hard at work starting a few new brands. I had previously mentioned these projects in my Digging News here and here. It has been a few months in the making but Cigar Aficionado has confirmed that the CLE ( Christians initials ) name is currently the companies name. Although this information is good, The Cigar Nut has a bit more information that Cigar Aficionado is not releasing to the public just yet. Click the link to find out more!

Getting back into the swing of things just makes me realize how much stuff I was letting slip through the cracks! I’m not saying I’m back in full force yet, but at least I can put up info more than twice a month – haha! Enough bullshitting – lets get to the point.

First on the list is the Outlaw Cigar Co – a B&M located out in Kansas City, Missouri. For those of us cigar smokers in Missouri – the location has become synonymous with hours upon hours of time spent with a decent amount of information ( and a few laughs ) for the road. Well – If your one who keeps up on the new cigars from these locations you may remember the ‘Gunslinger’ brand, the one blend in this line being the Drifter. There has been much talk though their forums of new cigars being added and even the mention of one called ‘The Hangman’ but no solid information has been gathered at this time. Well – it appears it is confirmed, the Hangman is a cigar that the company has in the works and The Cigar Nut has some pictures of the new cigar for you all!

New Head Europe at the Oettinger Davidoff Group

Thats right – I’m back with some more digging news! Its been about a month since I posted my last series of news, and I will admit that I kinda miss it, and by the emails I have been receiving I guess you all miss it too. Very good, now I have you all hooked!

To start it out, It appears that Fuente Fuente is pushing the brand image a bit more – Not as bad as KISS with their patented surf boards, shirts, key chains, beer glasses or tennis shoes – but it does appear that they have moved on from the S.T. Dupont lighter/ashtray combo and have started to focus on a fridge or wineador type storage situation? Can’t find much out there except for this image, but hey – speculating is fun too!
