Short – sweet and to the point. IPCPR is going on right now, and like most of us, I am not there. The simple fact of the matter, with so much news and information coming out of this convention, first off I don’t want to repeat the same thing you’ll see on every other site, and second I have a lot of info to absorb myself! Catch up with you all after the show is done!

The Nut Himself

Thats right – I’m back with some more digging news! Its been about a month since I posted my last series of news, and I will admit that I kinda miss it, and by the emails I have been receiving I guess you all miss it too. Very good, now I have you all hooked!
To start it out, It appears that Fuente Fuente is pushing the brand image a bit more – Not as bad as KISS with their patented surf boards, shirts, key chains, beer glasses or tennis shoes – but it does appear that they have moved on from the S.T. Dupont lighter/ashtray combo and have started to focus on a fridge or wineador type storage situation? Can’t find much out there except for this image, but hey – speculating is fun too!

Well, I had this whole big plan for another fun April Fools joke but after I gave my ‘Goodbye from The Cigar Nut‘ last year – I decided I was not going to play the same card twice. Got a few more ‘glad your leaving’ messages that I thought I would haha!
Instead, I wanted to give you all an update that we only have another week or so until the Achievements contest is going to start. I have gotten 2 manufacturers, lighter company, ashtray company and 2 retail locations to help with the prize package, as well as some smokes from my own personal collection. Still trying to get some more sponsors, but every little bit helps!
Hope you all are having as good of weather as we are having in St. Louis today ( blue skies, 80 deg and decent humidity ) – sounds like the perfect weather to go out and BBQ, have a cigar and take in the day!

Behind The Stick:
In 2010 Pete Johnson produced an exclusive cigar for Holts Cigar Company in the Garcia factory and named it the HCS. Within this line three sizes are available, the Robusto Larga (5.25 x 50), Toro Grande (5.625 x 54), and Torpedo Cubano (6.125 x 52). News on the street is that this release was based on the Verocu blend and only 1500 boxes ( 500 of each size in 20 count boxes ) were produced. I know how you all love Tatuaje cigars, and a group of 3 of these cigars have been sitting in my humidor for just shy of a year, and I figured – it is time to sacrifice these to the cigar gods.

As many of you know, I am a fan of the CRA ( Cigar Rights of America ) and I speak highly of them every chance I get. If you are not familiar with the organization, please look on the far right side of this site and click the black and white CRA logo – it will take you directly to their site. For the regular readers, you know that I do not normally post CRA news but with 2012 looking like a much more restrictive year when it comes to smoking laws with more than a couple states talking about full – state wide smoking bans. I will continue to post information as I hear it but I will keep the juice bits after the click. Would like to hear what you think about the news, please leave a comment and let me know!
