Recently the city of Evanston, Illinois became the first Illinois city to raise their tobacco purchase age to 21. Â Evanston residents may now vote and die for their country but can no longer buy tobacco at 18 since the electedofficials now know what is best for them!
City officials site the reaon for the new ordinance is that statistics show those wh smoke most often begin in their teens. Â 40 other municipalities have joined in striping rights from legal adults and raised their tobacco purchase age to 21.
