The Cigar Nut

Happy St. Patrick day to you all!  Today I will review the Gurka Ninja XO.  Here are the stats:

Cigar: Gurkha Ninja XO (cost: $6.00)
Size: 6×60

Wrapper: Brazilian Maduro

Binder: Dominican
Filler:   Nicaraguan

Strength: Medium

This large, dark cigar has a very pleasant cold draw with notes of hay and coffee.  With the V-cut, I did loose part of the cap but it was not a total loss.

The initial flavor is full of coffee and cocoa.  The draw is wide open and the hay is still present.  After about an inch, the ash fell off in my lap.  This is kind of disappointing for a large cigar.

A third in and the coffee and cocoa remains.  The burn is a little crooked, which one would expect from a larger cigar.  The room not is especially creamy and nice.

Over halfway and the taste is awesome.  The hay has faded and the cocoa is the main fkavor.  Again, the burn has been a challenge, but the ash is a nice white.  There is some spice through the nose.

Finishing, here is my grade:

Flavor:  7 (x 4.4)= 30.8

Construction 5 (x 3.3) = 16.5

Appearance   8 (x .9) = 7.2

Value:  8 (x 1.2) = 9.6

Buy again:  Yes, for occasional smoke- 10

recommend:  Yes, give it a shot- 10

Total:  84.1
