Hey everyone,

Today I will be reviewing the CAO Italia.  Here are the stats:

Cigar: CAO Italia Box-pressed (cost: $4.00)
Size: 5.5 x 55
Wrapper: Honduras
Binder: Honduras
Filler: Itali, Nicaragua & Peru
Strength: Full

The initial  cut and cold draw was interesting and different.  I noticed a very citrus-like flavor.  The wrapper is dark and perfect looking.  Being box-pressed, it has a very firm, solid construction.  There is a double band with the name of the cigar and indication of “box-pressed” all in beautiful, Italian colors.

The first third of the burn has been very enjoyable with fruity notes, as well as a hint of cedar.  The burn has been even, with an ash that holds strong.

The second third reveals a leather note with the fruity taste going away.  The ash remained until about half-way down the stick.  The burn is still straight and the ash is grey and flaky.

The final third shows a little spice and leather on the finish.  Ash and burn remained consistent and strong.  The draw really opened at the end, leaving for a little bit much of a hot finish.

Overall, this is a nice smoke that I found in the discount section of my B&M at a cost of $4.00.  On a scale of 1-10, I would give this stick a 7.  Pick one up and try it for yourself.

I really want to like the Italias, but it seems like every one I smoke has a terrible burn and the flavor suffers from it.
