Cigar Bandits – Prices So Low, You’ll Feel Like A Bandit!

Cigar Bandits Logo

For those who have been on the ride known as The Cigar Nut, it has been a wild and crazy 6 years. From a random review here and there as a way to find that ‘wow’ cigar, to a recognition that the community and the people in it are the real ‘wow’ of the cigar world – it is only right that I let you all know about my latest venture in this thing we call life – Cigar Bandits.

Started as a no muss, no fuss approach – I quickly realized that for most, running a business is simply having a license to steal. I understand making a dollar and the fact that the lights need to be kept on, but I don’t agree with a few making a killing while the rest of us save every dime only to pass it off to someone for some fantastic cigars.

Thus – Cigar Bandits was born! I guarantee I will meet or beat any advertised online price plus we are the only site to include loot! As you save more, you will qualify for different levels of “loot” – lets say with our current steal, you spend $100 – you will get 2 free Perdomo Champagne Figurados! Spend $500 and you will get the two free cigars plus six Nica Rustica cigars by Drew Estate! We will be adding different options for each level so YOU have the choice of what cigars or accessories you want in your order for free!

Check back often, while we already have over 2600 different products we will be adding more! If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me or our 24/7 support line!

The Cigar Nut

45 years of the Nicaraguan cigar industry celebrated with a Limited Edition by Joya de Nicaragua

Esteli, Nicaragua – - 1968 was the year when it all started: the first Premium Nicaraguan cigar was hand rolled in Estelí under the Joya de Nicaragua seal. With it, the Nicaraguan cigar industry was born and a new era for Premium hand rolled cigars began. JOYA DE NICARAGUA S.A is proud to honor this achievement with Cuatro Cinco, a Limited Edition cigar.

Cuatro Cinco has been especially crafted to commemorate four and half decades of history of Joya de Nicaragua, its people and the city of Estelí, where it all started. Cuatro Cinco is an authentic Nicaraguan puro,
hand rolled in Estelí with tobaccos grown in the region and in Jalapa, with a special 5 year old ligero that the factory had been saving in its bodegas for this special occasion. As if time wasn’t enough, the filler tobaccos have been specially aged in oak barrels for more than a year to give them distinctive and sophisticated notes, and the silky smooth wrapper and binder are Nicaraguan grown in the Jalapa valley.

Behind The Stick:

If there is one thing that will never change in America – it is the look on peoples faces when you tell them or show them your ‘latest Cuban cigar’ – well, at least until that whole embargo thing is lifted. While Cuban cigars are truly one country puro’s, the diversity and range of tobacco that this island produces is beyond words and ‘may’ be part of their draw and attraction to smokers across the world – aside from the whole rolling on the thighs of virgins thing.

One of the more famous marcas ( next to Cohiba ) is the Partagás line, known to some by the red band and others by the flagship vitola, the Serie D No. 4 robusto. The Serie D Especial Edicion Limitada 2010 utilizes the D’s core and builds on it by adding 3/4 of an inch, making it a total of 5 1/2 inches long and a 50 ring gauge giving this cigar the name ‘gordito’ in the Cuban cigar factories. Released as a limited edition cigar in 2010, the Partagás D Especial has been toted as full bodied and full flavored while most Americans who love the dark Nicaraguan and Honduran tobaccos may consider this to be closer to Medium in range. Enough rambling about illegal cigars – onto the damn review!

The Cigar Nut

Surrogates Skull Breaker

Size: 5.25 x 52 ( Belicoso )
Wrapper: Nicaraguan
Binder and Filler: Nicaraguan
Strength: Full
Price: $7.50 each

Surrogates Skull Breaker

Behind The Stick:

One of my favorite parts of the cigar world is when seemingly completely different entities come together for a common purpose with sincere intent. The Surrogate Skull Breaker is exactly this type of a cigar – although rather intimidating from the band to the wrapper to the hype, this was actually a cigar that was produced for “… the excitement of a limited edition stick at a consumer-conscious price point and be readily available”. New Havana Cigars out of Ohio had teamed up with Pete Johnson of Tatuaje Cigars while being physically created by the My Father Cigars factory in Esteli, Nicaragua. While the intent and collaboration have been broadly spoken about the actual specifics of the cigar have been a bit of a mystery with the exception that “Nicaraguan tobacco is used”.

The Cigar Nut

Davidoff Nicaragua

Size: 3.75 x 46 Short Corona
Wrapper: Ten Year Old Habano Seed Nicaraguan Rosado
Binder and Filler: Nicaragua ( Esteli, Condega and Ometempe )
Strength: Medium
Price: ~ $14.00 usd each

Davidoff Nicaragua

Behind The Stick:

Within the cigar industry – there are only a few names that have transcended the expanse of time, countries, owners and farmers. One of those names which is not only respected and known but thriving, is the Davidoff company. While I am not going into the history of the cigar company but suffice to say with roots going all the way back to Cuba, this predominantly Dominican grown tobacco operated organization has started shifting gears it appears. While this is not the first cigar Davidoff that has produced with Nicaraguan tobacco but while the Maduro line contains Nicaraguan tobacco it is not a Nicaraguan puro such as this cigar. Containing viso from Esteli, Ligero from Condega, Viso from Ometepe and Ligero from Esteli while being wrapped in a Habano Seed Nicaraguan Rosado that has been aging for 10 years – it is hard to not get excited by this Nicaraguan Puro from an extensive Dominican portfolio. Coming in three different sizes, Short Corona (3.75 x 46), Robusto (5 x 50), and Toro (5.5 x 54) – for the short smoke fans of the world, the Davidoff Nicaragua may just be your cup of tea!
